Howard Bernstein has practiced law in New York since 1973 and in Florida since 1990, having always maintained a General Practice with an emphasis on Real Estate, including the drafting, negotiation and review of residential and commercial Contracts of Sale, Land Acquisition Agreements, Residential and Commercial Lease Agreements, License Agreements, representation of clients and private lenders at Closings and Condominium Boards and Homeowner’s Associations with respect to enforcement of covenants, restrictions, easements, liens, By-Laws, House Rules and regulations.
Since the early 1990s, Howard’s New York firm and JUPITER LAW CENTER have worked together on matters involving New York and New Jersey clients. He continues to bridge the New York/New Jersey to Florida connection now that he calls Florida home. He is proud of his longstanding affiliation with JUPITER LAW CENTER, which mirrors his own approach in the practice of law.
Howard graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and from Brooklyn Law School where he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Administrative Law. He is a member of the New York State Bar and the Florida Bar. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, United States District Court in both the Eastern District of New York and Southern District of New York, United States Tax Court, United States Court of International Trade and the New York State Court of Appeals. Howard has been appointed by the Financial Industries Regulatory Agency (FINRA) to serve as Arbitrator and Chairperson and participates in the determination of cases involving securities disputes. For many years, Howard served as an Instructor with the New York City Board of Education and taught courses in Law Related Education.
Although Howard spends most of his time in Florida, he continues to maintain his involvement with his New York/New Jersey clients who seek to relocate to Florida or have matters in Florida. Having practiced Real Estate and Homeowners’ Association Law for more than thirty years, his practice has included transactional matters while concentrating on representing condominium and homeowners’ association boards helping to resolve community issues and concerns.
He resides in Palm Beach Gardens with his wife Debbie. His son, Alec, lives in Massachusetts and his daughter, Marin, lives in New Jersey. During his free time, Howard enjoys jogging and bicycling. Notwithstanding his connection to Florida, Howard remains a loyal New York Yankees fan.
